Odoo Backups

Terms of service

Effective date and last updated: October 18, 2026

These terms govern authorized use of Odoo Backups, a managed backup tool operated by Code Wave Agency ("we", "us"). If a separate written service agreement covers your deployment, that agreement takes precedence where its provisions conflict with these terms.

Odoo Backups creates database and attachment archives, uploads them to an authorized Google Drive account, applies configured retention rules, and can send operational notifications. Schedules, destinations, and retention are configured for each deployment.

1. Authorized use

You must have authority to access the selected Odoo databases, copy their contents, authorize the Google account, and instruct us to operate the backup service. If acting for an organization, you must be authorized to act on its behalf. The service is intended for authorized business administrators, not for accessing another person's data without permission.

2. Your responsibilities

3. Google authorization and third-party services

Google Drive access requires your authorization. You may revoke it at any time through your Google Account. Revocation, expired credentials, insufficient storage, provider rate limits, network outages, or changes to third-party services can prevent uploads or cleanup. Google Drive, hosting, and optional Telegram services are subject to their own terms and availability.

4. Backups, retention, and recovery

Backup schedules and retention periods are operational settings, not a guarantee that every backup will complete or that every recovery will succeed. Recovery can depend on archive integrity, compatible Odoo versions and addons, filestore availability, and the condition of the destination environment.

Retention cleanup removes older archives according to the configured policy; Google Drive Trash or organizational retention rules may delay permanent erasure. We recommend maintaining recovery procedures and testing restores. Any guaranteed recovery objectives, availability commitments, or support response times must be specified in a separate service agreement.

5. Data ownership and privacy

You and the relevant data owners retain their rights in database contents and backup archives. You authorize the processing and copying needed to provide the agreed backup, maintenance, and recovery functions. Our Privacy Policy explains Google permissions, data handling, service providers, retention, and deletion requests.

6. Fees

Any Code Wave Agency service charges are determined by your separate quotation or agreement. Google storage, hosting, network usage, and other third-party costs are governed by the relevant provider and account settings. These terms do not promise that all third-party services will remain free.

7. Changes, suspension, and termination

We may update the tool to maintain compatibility or security, and may suspend access where necessary to address a security incident, unauthorized use, or a provider restriction. You may request that scheduled backups stop. Stopping the service does not automatically erase existing archives; deletion and retention are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and the applicable service agreement.

We will update this page when these terms change. Material service changes will be communicated to the relevant administrator where appropriate. Any separate agreement and applicable legal notice requirements continue to apply.

8. Service limitations and legal rights

The tool depends on the configured infrastructure and third-party services. Unless separately agreed or required by applicable law, we do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free backups, or recovery of every item. Responsibilities and liability are governed by any applicable written agreement and law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Contact
